Autonomous Robotic Sailboat

Olin Robotic Sailing Team -2015-2018

The Olin Robotic Sailing team aims to send the first fully autonomous robotic sailboat across the Atlantic.

My contributions to the team include mechanical design of the rudder actuation system, fabrication, teaching less experienced members of the mechanical subteam, material/part acquisition, and tying bowline knots.

In Spring 2016, I was unable to do physical work, though I worked on CAD, and had videoconferences with members of the team when they needed help with FEA and design.

In Summer 2016, we went to Kingston, Ontario for SailBot, a yearly autonomous sailing competition.  Our current boat (The Enterprise), is our largest boat yet, and did fairly well at the competition.

More information about the team and our progress can be found on our website.
